This 12-month program has been developed in collaboration with People and Culture professionals and Venue Managers from leading venues across the region. It is designed to support those at the beginning of their career journey by providing a clear, structured pathway into the industry, combining practical learning, professional development, and direct access to real opportunities.
The Career Start Program blends online education, live webinars and Town Halls, industry networking, and job readiness training to help you build confidence, capability, and connections. Throughout the program, you’ll engage with experienced industry professionals, learn the fundamentals required to work safely and effectively in venues, and gain insight into the many career pathways available across the sector.
Your journey includes the Career Path Webinar Series and Town Halls, delivered monthly by the VMA Education team and guest industry experts, alongside the Venue Ready Certificate — a self-paced online qualification covering Customer Service, Health and Safety, Situational Awareness, and Crowd Management.
As a participant, you’ll also receive VMA Membership, giving you access to industry events, the Digital Series, After 5! networking events, and VMA Venue Jobs — connecting you directly with employers and event-based recruitment opportunities.
On successful completion, you’ll be awarded both a VMA Career Start Certificate of Completion and a VMA Venue Ready Certificate — industry-endorsed credentials designed to support your next steps and help launch real careers in venues and events.
